Day Seven

I started a new quilt yesterday. This is a picture of the safety pins I am using to baste it. This is a small quilt that will be used to keep me warm at work. The top was super quick to make up, so I am sure I will be making more of these. I used to only make my quilts King size, which I think is the reason I stopped quilting for a while. But now that I am willing to make smaller projects, I think I will be doing a lot more quilting.

Great shot - love the angle you chose. I grandma always quilted and I a few of her quilts - love them. It's something I've always wanted to learn.

Ha, even before I read below the picture I knew what this was! I have quilted in the past so this brings back memories, great shot by the way.

Hi Rachel,

Just wanted to say thank you for writing all that math out on Finn's blog..I thought I might have to do it as I was the one who original posted my strippy quilt on my blog...I made it based on vague recollection of a pattern. I didn't expect people to go off and make it...but it seems there are at least 3 people who have.

I've had a quick look at your blog and already I can see you are a girl after my own heart...I'm a math gal too, a quilter and a lover of photography...I got a DSLR for Christmas and I'm having a blast with it...I'll definitely be back to see what up are up to...love the pic ;o)

Hi Rachel, I wanted to pop over and thank you for stopping by my blog and for the wonderful gift of the math formula for strippy quilts. I've been super excited about this method of using up odd strips, but as you read, I'm math challenged!
I've just thrilled to have your formula and will copy it to my quilting project book, so I can find it again!!
Love your pics, especially the one of your fur baby asleep on DH's chest. My Ebony does that reaching out thing, also. It's so endearing. Thanks again, hope to see you in blogland! Hugs, Finn
